Golden Gate Bridge 75th Anniversary
Our first ever social media-focused consumer event, we really hit the ground running, by meeting thousands of fans, giving away what came to be one of our most popular cases ever – the limited edition Golden Gate Bridge CandyShell, and collecting fan-made, creative renditions of our "sparky" logo.
Our first ever social media-focused consumer event, we really hit the ground running, by meeting thousands of fans, giving away what came to be one of our most popular cases ever, and collecting fan-made, creative renditions of our "sparky" logo. The event went on to win a 2013 Reggie Award for emerging brand activation!
To get fans' creative juices flowing and to collect "sparky" art, we set up a 7x10 foot mural featuring the iconic Golden Gate Bridge and a slew of Insta-printers that pulled in our event hashtag, #makeyourspark, from Twitter. We encouraged fans to re-create our logo, The Spark, out of ANYTHING, snap a pic, and share it with us on Twitter using this custom tag and Speck's handle, @speckproducts.
After the user-submitted "sparky" pic were automatically printed, fans got to stick 'em up on the group mural and get their limited edition Golden Gate Bridge Speck CandyShell case. We received thousands of entries throughout the event and still see this case on peoples' phones around the Bay!
We were lucky to get to end the amazing weekend with one of the coolest firework shows we've ever seen. Too fun!
