Did someone say shopping season? With Black Friday right around the corner, people across the internet are frantically looking for (or, Googling) ways to scavenge the best deals for the holidays. And most people are looking no further than their mobile phones to aid their purchasing this year, but why? To back things up, the introduction of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus kicked off record-setting numbers for App Store downloads the last few months. Mobile app marketing firm Fiksu reported an average of 7.8 million downloads per day only across the top 200 free iOS apps available in October, and these numbers are expected to continue through the holiday shopping window. Time magazine helpfully published an article "The 5 Best Apps for Dominating Black Friday with your iPhone," which includes not only in-store deals- but smart ways to park during the hustle and bustle of holidays. Why so many apps? According to Mobile Payments Today, as many as 3/4 of all consumers plan to use their mobile devices to make their shopping a little easier this year.
